Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. You can switch your display adapter to Microsoft Basic Adapter. This will allow you to fix your brightness problem. Because it's a basic adapter, you will have limited functions such as projecting a second screen through HDMI. You can download the older drives from Lenovo's website. This is where I got mine.
With this, you shouldn't be limited to functions like the basic adapter above. Updating drivers won't help since P is not supported from Lenovo for Windows Really upset about that. Though their Thinkpads are good, most likely will not buy a Lenovo again, especially Ideapad. Anyways, good luck!

Also, poor performance when editing 4k videos and probably light gaming as well. This is still the best choice for most people. However, Windows 10 tends to keep upgrading your display drivers you have to disable that not very simple. You can also upgrade to the Version: Although you can always change brightness settings with keyboard while the laptop is booting up before Windows start to load.
I am done with Lenovo's Ideapad as well. Between the subpar display quality, no Windows 10 support for this very capable Windows 8 laptops when honestly only trackpad and the display drivers need update for Windows 10 for the P laptop , and whitelisting wireless card making upgrading wifi cards a hassle I had to mod-BIOS to get Intel AC card to work.
I've been a pretty disappointed with Lenovo's Ideapad. However, if you hit either brightness key while you're using the OS, you have to restart again in order to change the brightness. I downloaded the older drivers but the fix didn't last. I might just need to check my auto update settings Upgraded my Lenovo ideapad P to Windows 10, got dimmed screen, can't change backlight brightness, tried: 1.

Right-click your monitor and choose Uninstall and confirm in the popup. On the toolbar, click the "Scan" button 4th from the end on my toolbar, it has a magnifying glass on the icon. How satisfied are you with this reply? Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site.
